More than 70% of Russians do not use online stores - survey

As of today, half of Russians (49%) have Internet access, a large part of them - on a daily basis (30%). Most active users of global web are 18-24-year-olds (70%), highly educated respondents (54%), Russians with high self-esteem of their wealth (52%) and residents of the two capitals (47%).

Most Russians (71%) do not use online stores, online shopping experience had only 29% of respondents, most Russians bought online clothing and footwear, suggests a survey of the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM).

As of today, half of Russians (49%) have Internet access, a large part of them - on a daily basis (30%).

Most active users of global web are 18-24-year-olds (70%), highly educated respondents (54%), Russians with high self-esteem of their wealth (52%) and residents of the two capitals (47%).

Most wanted online merchandise - clothing and footwear (such goods have been bought by 9% of Internet users). The top 5 most popular online shopping items have also included electronics, books (magazines, as well as video and audio CDs, computer games), airplane and train tickets, tours (7%), small household appliances (6%) . This is followed by tickets to the theater (the club, a concert, movie), and large household appliances (5%), cosmetics (4%), household goods, sporting goods, discount coupons (3%).

Russians are least likely to buy from online stores jewelry and food products (2%), flowers and furniture (1%). Almost no one buys foreign currencies and pets (less than 1% of respondents).

The initiative opinion poll was conducted on September 24-25. 1600 respondents were interviewed in 138 resedential areas in 46 regions and republics of Russia. The statistical error does not exceed 3.4%.
